Calibrating Scales and Balances – Example

Calibrating any of our scales or balances can be very simple.

Why do we need to calibrate a scale before using it?
At the time of production, no scale knows how to convert the electrical signal received from the load cells into weight values.
So we basically have to teach it what a kilogram, a ton or any other unit of measurement means.

How do we do that?
Very simple! Using calibrated units of measurement, we set the parameters of the scale so that it knows exactly the ratio between a certain signal and the numerical value that is indicated on the scale display.

In the video below you can see how to calibrate a small scale.
